BAF REFUND POLICY

NO REFUNDS

While we appreciate and value your interest and support. In order to ensure that we provide each ambassador, sponsor, honoree, and guest with an extraordinary experience we have a strict NO REFUND policy. This policy applies to all ticket & merchandise purchases made at the Black Authors Festival.

We kindly request all attendees to carefully review their ticket choices and confirm their availability before completing their purchases. Once a ticket purchase is made, it is considered a final sale and no refund will be issued. 

Our NO REFUND policy includes, but is not limited to, the following situations:

  1. Event Attendance:

    • If you are unable to attend the festival for any reason.

    • In the event that you are unable to attend, ticket transfers nor refunds will not be provided.

  2. Event Cancellation:

    • In the unlikely happenstance that the Black Authors Festival is canceled, you will be entitled to receive a full refund for the ticket purchase, excluding any processing fees or service charges.

  3. Program Changes:

    • The Black Authors Festival reserves the right to make changes to the event program, including event schedules, honorees, venues, and participants without notice.

    • In the event of significant program changes, the Black Authors Festival will do our very best to notify ticket holders through the email provided during the ticket purchase process.

  4. Ticket Selection:

    • It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the correct selection of tickets, including the event date, meal selection (if applicable), time, seating preference, etc..

    • Please review all ticket details, including quantity and ticket type, before finalizing your purchase (s).

  5. Ticket Confirmation:

    • After completing the ticket purchase, customers will receive a confirmation via email with the ticket details.

  6. Ticket Transfer:

    • Transfers of tickets to another individual is not permitted.

    • Tickets are non-transferable and can only be used by the individual whose name is on the ticket.

  7. Lost or Stolen Tickets:

    • The Black Authors Festival is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets.

    • Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced nor refunded.

This NO REFUND policy aims to maintain fairness and consistent treatment to all our attendees. We encourage you to consider carefully before purchasing your tickets.

Who we may share your information with: We may share your information with third-party business partners and Trusted Users for the purpose of providing our Services to you.

We use third party services to manage ticket sales, Printful to distribute all merchandise (e.g. hats, mugs, t-shirts, etc.), and Zelle/CashApp/Square to handle all monetary transactions in selling our products. Third party business partners will be given limited access to your information as is reasonably necessary to deliver the product, and we will require that such third parties comply with this Privacy Policy, or operate under a similar privacy policy.

Who can see User Content?

Any User Content that you voluntarily disclose (e.g., Facebook, X, on blogs open to public reading) and made available to your friends or the public cannot be removed by us. Check your settings carefully and be aware of how your posts are being made public or not. Once you make a post on one of our blogs or comments pages, or Facebook or Twitter feeds, User Content may not be completely removed even though it has been deleted from the site. It is possible that content will remain viewable in cached and archived pages of Internet search engines and on other sites that have republished us, or if other Users have copied or saved that information. If you do not wish your User Content to be available to the public, please don’t post it to our blogs, comment pages, or social media sites which are all public.

Who can see your IP address?

If you post User Content on any public site we provide while not logged in, your IP address will be published with your User Content in order to attribute your contribution to the site. Persons and entities who may see IP addresses include the www.nationalblackauthorsfestival.com domain host, assistants, website maintenance personal, and website designers.

How do we protect your information?

We do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards.

An external PCI compliant payment gateway handles all CC transactions.

We use regular Malware Scanning. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order, enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

Clear gifs/web beacons information

When you use any services, we may employ clear gifs (also known as web beacons) which are used to anonymously track the online usage patterns of our Users. In addition, we may also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of the content we provide you.

We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. Google’s advertising requirements can be summed up by Google’s Advertising Principles. They are put in place to provide a positive experience for users. We use Google AdSense Advertising on our website.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our site. Google’s use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on previous visits to our site and other sites on the Internet. Users can visit our site anonymously. Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it on our home page or as a minimum, on the first significant page after entering our website.

Our Privacy Policy link includes the word ‘Privacy’ and can easily be found on the page specified above.

In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur: We will notify the users via in-site notification within seven business days.

CAN SPAM ACT
